Chiclayo Begin in Chiclayo, a hub for wildlife including the reintroduced White-winged Guan, where you Will encounter Tumbesian specialties like Rufous Flycatcher and Tumbes Tyrant; have the chance to observe the spectacled bear, white-tailed deer, and Sechura Fox. Explore Chaparri Reserve's bird feeders and natural springs which attract species such as the Tumbes Hummingbird and Peruvian Sheartail. Optionally, visit the Bosque Historico de Pomac for Peruvian Plant-cutter and more Tumbesian endemics.
Cajamarca Travel to Cajamarca which includes stops for birding, featuring species such as the Gray-bellied Comet and Yellow-billed Tit-Tyrant. Potential hummingbird sightings include the Green-tailed Trainbearer and Giant Black Metaltail. Evening arrival in Celendin offers views of the Marañon canyon.
Celendin to Leymebamba Drive through stunning Marañon habitats, home to the Yellow-faced Parrotlet and Gray-winged Inca Finches. Overnight in Leymebamba for birding opportunities with the Coppery Metaltail and Koepcke’s Screech-Owl.
Leymebamba Explore Abra Barro Negro for rare hummingbirds and Leymebamba's feeders which feature Purple-throated Sunangel and Rainbow Starfrontlet. Later, visit local hummingbird feeders for further photographic opportunities.
Pomacochas Travel to Pomacochas for Lagoon views and bird photography. Species include the White-cheeked Pintail and Andean Coot. Discover Marvelous Spatula-Tailed and other local feeders.
Abra Patricia Head to Long Whiskered Owlet Lodge for morning birding sessions. Explore Fundo Alto Nieva for the Royal Sunangel and Greenish Puffleg. Return for afternoon feeder sessions.
Arena Blancas Reserve Full-day experience at the Arena Blancas, known for its diverse range of hummingbirds and tanagers. Special sightings include the Rufous-breasted Wood-Quail and Blue-fronted Lancebill.
Moyobamba Explore Moyobamba's feeders for birds like the Fiery-capped Manakin and Sapphire-Spangled Emerald. Visit Morro de Calzada for special birds such as the Cinereous-breasted Spinetail.
Tarapoto Travel to Tarapoto for Tunnel feeders with species like the Golden-tailed Sapphire and Koepcke's Hermit.
